Job Evaluation

As your staff complement increases, and jobs become diverse, a formal job evaluation system assists you to classify jobs objectively and ensure that your staff are being paid comparable to their worth to the organization.

We develop customized job evaluation systems designed to recognize those components of work that are important to your organization.

Cornerstones’ services range from developing the system to administering job questionnaires, drafting job descriptions, evaluating jobs and recommending classification structures.

Pay Equity

Pay equity is equal pay for work of equal or comparable value.

Ontario’s Pay Equity Act requires all public sector employers and private sector employers who employ 10 or more employees to achieve and maintain pay equity. The federal government, and federally regulated companies fall under the pay equity provisions included in the Canadian Human Rights Act.

Cornerstones consultants have extensive experience in the development of pay equity plans in both non-union and union workplaces, including negotiation with bargaining agents. We can also assist you in maintaining pay equity and resolving complaints.

Employment Equity

scalesIf you have a national workforce of 100 employees or more and are bidding on federal government contracts valued at $200,000 or more, as a condition of your bid, you are required to commit to implementing employment equity under the Federal Contractors Program.
